● How to get to UH Flat Sokcho. ($90/Night Stay in Sokcho)

The express bus from Dong Seoul Terminal to Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal takes around 2 hours.
Once you arrive, the hotel is just a 10-minute walk away.

The Dong Seoul Bus Terminal is conveniently connected to Gangbyeon Station on Subway Line 2, making it easy to reach by public transportation.

✨ How to Choose the Right Bus Terminal
There are three major bus terminals in Seoul,
but to reach this hotel easily, you must use the Dong Seoul Bus Terminal.
If you depart from the Express Bus Terminal (고속버스터미널) instead,
you’ll need to transfer to a local bus after arriving in Sokcho — which can be inconvenient.
🚌 Buses from Dong Seoul Terminal to Sokcho run every 30 minutes,
so there are plenty of options throughout the day.

it’s about a 12-minute walk to the hotel.

You’ll see two tall buildings side by side — the hotel is in one of them.

Once you enter, you’ll see the lobby right away.
● Hotel lobby, reception and elevator UH Flat Sokcho

The lobby is quite clean and stable-feeling for a hotel of this size.

It gives a very neat and welcoming first impression.
The reception staff are friendly and professional,
making check-in smooth and pleasant.
As you can see in the photo on the right, luggage storage service is available.

$90/Night Stay in Sokcho

We booked the room for 2 adults and 1 child.
There were quite a few room types to choose from,
and we selected one with a separate bedroom and living room, which was perfect for us.
There were also rooms with a larger refrigerator and a washing machine,
but since those were one-room (studio) types, we decided not to go with them.
At this price point, the quality of this stay is definitely worth recommending.

● UH Flat Sokcho Room Introduction (Flat Suite Ocean View C)

As we stepped into the hallway, it felt somewhere between a residential officetel and an apartment — clean and secure.

We were given two room key cards upon check-in.

🌿 Our first impression?
Warm, cozy, and homey — it truly felt like walking into someone’s house.
After a long trip to Sokcho, we immediately felt relaxed, and the ocean view outside the window made us even happier.
To be honest, we didn’t expect this level of quality at this price point!

Room layouts may differ, but in our case, there was a convenient storage area to the left of the entrance — perfect for suitcases or even a stroller.
There was also a shelf above the space, making it easy to store larger bags.
The area was spacious enough that even a large stroller fit comfortably, and the door still closed with no problem.

🧑🍳 Kitchen Area
On the right side as you enter, there’s a small but neat kitchen.
For families with kids, a microwave is a must — and thankfully, this room had one!

Compared to our previous stay at UH Flat in Seocho, where the kitchen was larger and fully equipped, this one was smaller with only basic utensils: a few cups, small plates, and chopsticks/spoons.

The refrigerator was also quite small.
That was actually one of the hardest decisions when choosing this room type —
the rooms with bigger refrigerators and washing machines were one-room (studio) types, without separate living and bedroom areas.
So we chose this one because it had a separated bedroom and living room, even if the kitchen was simpler.

👨🔧 When we called the front desk (or asked in the lobby), they quickly brought us extra items like pots and pans.
Staff response was very fast and helpful.

There was a small dining table for three in front of the kitchen,
and beyond that, a sofa, TV, and balcony.

🛋️ Personally, I’m not a fan of fabric furniture (I prefer leather or vinyl),
so I found the sofa upholstery a bit disappointing. But other than that, everything felt comfortable.

Although the weather was gloomy during our stay, the view was open and refreshing.
You can’t see it well in the photos, but from the right side, you get a clear view of Sokcho Beach and the Sokcho Eye Ferris Wheel.

🌬️ Heating & Cooling
There were ceiling-type system air conditioners installed in both the living room and bedroom —
they were clean inside and worked very well.

🛏️ Bedroom
To the left was the bedroom with a queen-size bed,
and on the side, there was an extra-thick mattress, duvet, and pillow — the extra bedding was impressively thick and cozy.

We laid the extra mattress on the floor. Normally, I’m not a fan of that setup, but it worked out fine, and we all slept well.
Especially for families like ours with small children, it felt safer than sleeping in a high bed —
the floor mattress turned out to be a great option.

🧳 There were additional storage drawers under and around the bed area,
plus three hangers in the wardrobe.

🧼 The bedding wasn’t hotel-level premium, but it was clean and fluffy enough to be comfortable.
The only downside was that it was almost “too fluffy” — when our child jumped on the bed, some dust came up.

🚪 A glass door separated the bedroom from the living room, which was nice for privacy.
💡 Overall, we think this place is a great value for a family trip to Sokcho.

🛁 Bathroom
Immediately to the left of the entrance is the bathroom, which also includes a small vanity.

For the price, the bathroom condition was clean and totally acceptable.
However, only three bath towels were provided — no hand towels or bath mats.

We requested additional towels, and they quickly gave us 3 more bath towels and 3 hand towels.
The service was fast and responsive, though they told us bath mats are not available.

The toilet had a clean bidet, and the shower amenities were standard —
but stored in glass bottles near the floor, so if you’re traveling with kids, do be careful.
The hand wash by the sink was also in a glass dispenser.

📝 Final Thoughts
We’ll summarize the pros and cons in detail at the end,
but overall, we were genuinely surprised by the comfort, location, and quality — especially at this price.
And just so you know —
this is not a sponsored or paid review.
We personally booked and paid for everything, and are sharing our honest thoughts simply because we loved our stay.
If we had to name one drawback, it would be the small refrigerator.

That said, having Sokcho Tourist Market and Abai Village just a 10-minute walk away made a huge difference —
great location is one of this place’s strongest points!
● UH Flat Sokcho Amenities (Family-Friendly Stay for Travelers with Young Children)

This accommodation doesn’t offer breakfast service, and there’s no swimming pool or fitness center either.
However, the room was so well-designed and comfortable that we didn’t miss those amenities at all!
That said, it’s not like there are no facilities at all.
There’s a basement parking lot with free access, a luggage storage service next to the lobby on the 1st floor, and even a kids’ playroom on the 3rd floor!

For families like ours with a young child, having a kids’ room on-site was incredibly helpful.

It was more spacious and cleaner than expected, and even had origami paper ready for kids to play with!

The room was very well maintained, and surprisingly, our child loved it more than we expected.
If you’re traveling on a hot summer day, during cold weather, or when it’s raining, this space is a great indoor option for kids.

There’s even a restroom inside, which was quite convenient!

🔸 One small downside:
The kids’ room is open from 10 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, and from 10 AM to 10 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
So if you’re only staying one night on a weekday, the available time to use it can be quite limited.
Since check-in is from 4 PM, and most people head out for dinner or sightseeing before sunset, you may find the room closed when you return.
And the next morning, by the time you’re packing up for checkout at 11 AM, there’s not much time left to enjoy the kids’ space.

● Things to See Around UH Flat Sokcho (Family-Friendly Stay for Travelers with Young Children)
🏤 Abai Village, Gaetbae Raft Experience & Sokcho Tourist Fish Market (Family Trip in Sokcho)

There is a place about a 4-minute walk from the accommodation where you can ride the Gaetbae (pulled raft).
To the right is the Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market, and to the left across the water is Abai Village, which you can reach by riding the raft.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/9DGNoye2owGUQVhD8

If you walk about 4 minutes from the accommodation under the overpass heading to the right, you’ll reach the Gaetbae boarding area.

On the way there, it was a great spot to take pictures with the sea and boats in the background.

Even while pulling a stroller and stopping to take photos, it only took us about 5 minutes,
so if you walk briskly, it could take even less time.

You can ride the raft to cross over to the other side!
The fare is 500 won per adult.
When leaving from this side, you just board the raft and pay after you get off.
You don’t need to fold the stroller—you can just lift it briefly and bring it on board.
Some people on board also had the chance to try pulling the raft themselves, like in the photos.
There’s a hook installed, and by pulling it, the raft moves across to the other side.

You make the payment after getting off.
We paid 1,000 won for 2 adults.
Elementary school students are 300 won.
Our child, Loah, rode for free.

Once you get off, you’ll find Abai Village—a place where displaced people from North Korea settled.
There are many restaurants in the area.

We visited “Deungdae Grilled Fish Restaurant.”
https://maps.app.goo.gl/5FRMiV36ze1XW6ZW9
They serve 5 types of grilled fish, all cooked to perfection.
It costs 30,000 won for 2 people.
They serve flatfish, mackerel, Atka mackerel, and hairtail.
The fish is grilled well and soft enough that even young children can eat it easily.

Right in front of the restaurant is a shallow beach, perfect for catching small fish or playing in the sand—
although the water wasn’t particularly clear.

If you head back to the Gaetbae boarding point,
just behind it is the Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market,
only about a 1-minute walk from the dock.

If you take your time looking around,
you might spend 40 to 50 minutes there.

You can try various local foods.
The currently trending foods in Korea are Dakgangjeong (sweet & spicy fried chicken) and Soolbbang (rice wine steamed bun).

Korean Dakgangjeong is sweet with a slightly spicy kick.
🏤 Yeonggeumjeong & Sokcho Lighthouse (Family trip accommodation in Sokcho)

Yeonggeumjeong Pavilion and Sokcho Lighthouse are about a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive away.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/jQMGxxhM6VAq4fRWA
We don’t recommend taking the bus—
walking takes about the same amount of time.

It was a fantastic place to take photos with the East Sea in the background.

Near Yeonggeumjeong, you’ll find Sokcho Lighthouse.
Even though I’ve been to Sokcho 7 or 8 times, this was my first time visiting the lighthouse.
The stairs are a bit steep and there are quite a lot of them.

It’s high enough that you can look down at Yeonggeumjeong from above.

At the bottom of the lighthouse, there’s also a spot where you can view the ocean up close.
🏤 Sokcho Beach & Sokcho E-Mart

The big circle marks Sokcho Beach:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/qNcyNRZf6ZjYs1ULA
The small circle marks E-Mart.
It takes about 40 minutes on foot from the accommodation,
10 minutes by car,

or about 30 minutes by bus.
From Nonghyup Bank, just 2 minutes from the hotel,
take Bus No. 1 or 1-1.

t’s the stop on the right side in the photo.
Very easy to find.

Get off at the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal stop and walk to the beach.
There’s also a large E-Mart nearby.

The mart is very big and well-stocked.

Sokcho Beach is
one of the most developed and well-organized beaches along Korea’s East Sea.
So it’s the most reassuring beach to visit with children.

Lifeguards frequently patrol during the summer season.
🏤 Seorak Waterpia & Seoraksan Mountain

https://maps.app.goo.gl/GSBmUcfsnsriPzpN7
Seorak Waterpia is about a 20-minute drive from the accommodation.
If you take the bus:

From the same Nonghyup stop (2 minutes from the hotel),
take Bus No. 3 or 3-1.

It’s the same stop as before (photo on the right).
Very easy to find.

After about 25 minutes, get off at “Hanwha Resort” stop.
This is what the bus stop looks like.
Bus travel is surprisingly easy,
but taking a taxi might be more convenient.

This is a leisure complex combining hot springs and a water park—

a place that both kids and adults can enjoy.

You can book it at a discounted price on the MyRealTrip website.
However, since it’s a Korean site, it might be a bit tricky to use.
The screenshot shows the peak season price for July (called Gold Season),
but during the off-season, it automatically applies the discounted coupon.

At night, they also run a night spa.
Since there’s a Hanwha Resort right in front, it’s a good option to stay nearby.
We’ll review the Hanwha Resort in the next article.
On this trip, we stayed at 3 different accommodations.

Since our child is still young, we didn’t visit Seoraksan this time.
But when we went before—without kids—hiking there was amazing!
If you have the time, we highly recommend a Seoraksan trekking experience.
