Today, after traveling to Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province with Loah
and wanted to share some of our favorite places to recommend to your international friends.
We spent 7 days in Boryeong and just got back to Seoul a few days ago!
Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, is a beach town famous for its summer mud festival, so it’s already well known to foreign tourists.
However, Loah family traveled to Boryeong in the fall instead of summer!
Here are some of our favorite overnight trips for foreign families and friends.
Today, Loah and her cousin Yunwoo are joining us!
Let’s go!
●Intro (Boryeong)
Boryeong is about a 3-hour drive from Seoul,
about 2 hours by train from Yongsan Station.
Boryeong is famous for its beaches, especially the Mud Festival in the summer.
It’s also a great place for ziplining, skybiking, and surfing.
It’s also a great place to visit with kids, like the Loah family.

Features when visiting with children: Stroller x, nursing room x, my child loved the welcome cocoa.
It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes by public transportation from Daecheon Station.
However, traveling to smaller cities outside of Seoul is not easy without a personal vehicle.
It’s not a long distance, about 20 minutes by car.
If you don’t have a rental car, I recommend taking a tourist taxi for 10,000 won per hour.
If you book 6 hours for 60,000won
it seems like a good system.
The reservation site is
But That site doesn’t seem to have foreign language support.
tel:// 1688-2563
If you’re car renting, the Senate has a bit of a parking problem.
It’s very popular,
but it’s only open from April to November
and you can only go sightseeing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so there are a lot of people on all three days.
Sangwhwawon is an entire island called Bamboo Island.
There is a small bridge to enter the island, and there is a parking lot on the island, but it is narrow.
It is best to park on the shoulder of the road before entering the island.
One thing to note about the parking lots on the island is that the parking lot with the scary looking guy on the left in the photo is a commercial parking lot.
standing on the left side of the photo with a scary look on his face is a shopping mall parking lot,
If you park here, you have to make a purchase of 15,000 won or more to use the parking lot.
There is no parking fee anywhere else.
The explanation made your head hurt at first, didn’t it?
Now it’s as simple as paying at the box office here.
It’s just a short walk along this wooden path,
and the view of the ocean is very nice.
After about 400 meters, you’ll come to the visitor center.
They’ll give you a welcome drink and rice cakes.
You can eat lightly and walk back.
Sangwhwawon is like a giant, well-kept garden on one island.
The entire island is so well maintained that you can spend an hour walking around and taking pictures.
If you have a baby like we did, you’ll need to bring a baby carrier.
Strollers are not allowed.
There’s a hanok village about halfway up the trail that’s also very photogenic.
It takes 1 hour to walk around the entire island,
but if you have a small baby like us, it will take about 2 hours if you walk leisurely and take pictures.
Now let’s go to the next place, Daecheon Skybike Go Go Go

Start out light.
You can get by with just one adult pedaling.
But it takes two or more pedaling to get well going.
Nice view,
but unfortunately, we didn’t make it in time for high tide, so we’re riding on the bottom.
The sky bikes are very popular, so it’s hard to booking.
Sometimes you can’t ride if there’s a big group.
It’s quite a bit longer than you might think.
Especially since the right side is scarier.
If you’re scared, sit on the left.
It looks like this and all four of us can pedal.
There are two large umbrellas for sun protection.
After the skybike, you can have some extra fun at the Daecheon Beach,
or you can go straight to your accommodation.
I’m going to introduce you to a hostel that’s down the road from this beach.
Beache Palace Resort on Muchangpo Beach.
I was going to go straight to the hostel,
but the kids were disappointed, so we rented a car and a motorcycle.
It costs 15,000 won for 30 minutes.
Loah can drive the car herself but her mom must help control it with a remote control.
The motorcycle that Yun-woo rode is a mini four-wheeler that you have to drive yourself.
Next to the sky bikes, there’s also a zipline that flies over the ocean.

We didn’t have much time, so we skipped the zoo,
and the art exhibition room wasn’t very interesting for the kids, so we left after a short visit.
You pay an entrance fee when you first enter, so it’s best to see as much as you can.
About 5 minutes walk from the art museum is Herbrand.
From the outside, it looks like a normal
Inside, it’s not ordinary.
There’s a pathway for strollers and
A wide variety of animals and plants make it very photogenic
If you walk around a bit, you’ll see these hotspots everywhere.
The interior is beautiful, so you can take pictures here and there
it comes out great
The path leads to the outdoors,
and it’s beautiful here too.
It’s like being in a beautiful garden.
The path is very well organized.
Follow the path and you will find a cafe.
The cafe is called “Ririss”
Very spacious interiors
Sometimes chaotic, sometimes cozy.
There are lots of great photo spots all over the place
Seating is arranged in different concepts.
I think it would be great to take a picture here and have a little chat.
We spent about two hours exploring, had a cup of tea, and called it a day.
●Wrapping Up
Together with Loah and Yunwoo, we spent 7 days traveling boryeong country,
and condensed a few of the best places to introduce to foreigners into a
one-day and two-night courses.
We didn’t do as many activities as we would have liked because we had a baby and small children with us,
If you don’t have a baby, you might want to do something different.
In Korea, public transportation is very convenient and useful in big cities like Seoul,
other areas of the country are difficult for foreigners to use public transportation.
So when I was planning my itinerary, I tried to keep each course as close to each as possible.
Seoul is a very important city for traveling in Korea, but there are many other great places to visit
My family will introduce you to them.
Now we’re moving on to the next place to introduce you to.
Stay tuned! Nice Boryeong
