● location & Directions (Hot Spring Water Park Near Seoul)

It’s located between Seoul and Incheon,
about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Seoul Station.

seoul hotel

We stayed at Midcity Myeongdong Hotel, which is located near Jonggak Station on Line 1.
The hotel offers reasonable prices, is close to major tourist spots, and has easy subway access.

If you’re curious about the hotel,
search for Midcity Myeongdong Hotel on our website,
or check out our YouTube review here:

From the hotel, take Subway Line 1 from Jonggak Station, ride for about 44 minutes, and get off at Bugae Station.
From there, it’s about a 22-minute walk.
Alternatively, you can take Line 7 and get off at Samsan Gymnasium Station.

When you arrive, you’ll see a huge building right in front of you.
This place also has a large kids café and an aquarium, all in one complex.

But today, we’re only here to enjoy the hot spring water park.

Since the building is huge and has many different facilities,
make sure to follow the signs carefully.

Once you reach the ticket counter, show your online reservation to the staff.
Prices vary by season, but the regular rate is usually around KRW 65,000.
However, online tickets are nearly half the price.

Currently, there are no foreigner-exclusive tickets available,
so we’ll introduce the Korean websites that locals use to buy tickets.

  1. Weekday full-day ticket
  2. Weekday ticket for entry after 2 PM
  3. Weekend full-day ticket
  4. Weekend ticket for entry after 2 PM

It would be great if tickets were available on sites like KKday, Klook, or Booking.com,
but unfortunately, that’s not the case yet.

● Facilities & How to Enjoy (Hot Spring Water Park Near Seoul)

● Indoor Water Park Zone

*Source: Woongjin Playdoci official website

This is the official map for the water park area. There are three main zones: the Water Park Zone, the Hot Spring Spa Zone, and the Outdoor Water Park Zone.

During our visit at the end of May, the outdoor zone was closed, so we don’t have any information on that area.

Men enter through Zone H and women through Zone B.

This is the first view from the men’s locker room.

First thing to do after entering: You need to inflate your tube. Unlike other places, the air station is a bit farther away here.

If you don’t have a tube, you can rent a life vest here. It’s located at the center of the facility — head toward Zone D.

The air pump is powerful, so don’t overinflate your tube — it might burst!

Seoul Water Park

We brought our own aqua shoes and life jackets in advance.

Woongjin Play City

They worked really well.

It’s much better to prepare items like these in advance rather than slipping or stepping on something and ending up with a hospital bill.

Regular life vests were a bit uncomfortable for kids, so we prepared new ones this time — and they were great.

These days, even foreigners can shop online in Korea. Coupang delivers right to your hotel within a day.

You can use the link we share, or simply buy from a nearby Daiso.

The air release station is located near Zone C, close to the women’s locker room.

Woongjin Play City

Out of all the water parks and hot springs we’ve visited, this place had the best air deflation machine!

We recently went to Termeden Hot Springs in Icheon, and there, deflating by hand was actually faster than using the machine.

Next to the air release station, there’s a rental booth.

It costs 9,000 KRW to rent a life vest, and you get 1,000 KRW back when you return it.

Woongjin Play City

Let’s start with Zone 1: There’s a wave pool that resembles a small beach.

The water gets deeper gradually, so life vests are a must for small children.

Adults are not required to wear life vests in the front area of the pool.

However, in the inner wave zone (marked by ropes), waves are stronger, and even adults must wear life vests to enter.

Kids love the strong waves, but please don’t take your eyes off them — safety first!

To the left, you’ll find Zone 2: a water playground for kids.

Korean Hot Springs

Since we visited on a weekday, it wasn’t crowded, and it was quite fun.

The water pressure from falling water was strong, and the pool below the slide was deep.

Loah loves playgrounds, but she found this one a bit scary.

When she came down the slide, she fell straight into the water, which frightened her.

Kids aged around 5–10 will likely enjoy this the most.

웅진플레이도시 아기랑

Right next to it is Zone 3: a toddler pool.

Perfect for very young kids like Loah.

The water is shallow, and it even has a small slide.

It’s designed like a bath, so adults can sit and relax while watching their kids.

With a water depth of just 30 cm, it was the safest area for kids.

아기랑 온천

Here’s a view from Zone 3, looking toward Zones 4 and 7.

Zone 4 is a lazy river that circles the water park — great for floating with tubes or life jackets.

The water is 1 meter deep, so small children should ride with an adult.

Straight ahead, you’ll see Zone 5 and the slides in Zones 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Unfortunately, Loah and Yoonwoo weren’t able to use the kids’ slide in Zone 11.

Loah was too short, and Yoonwoo was too tall. It’s only for children between 100–120 cm.

That was quite disappointing.

We walked through the mist spray area.

Starting in June, the outdoor water park opens via the stairs on the left to the second floor, but since we visited in May, it was still closed.

Here’s a photo we took after leaving the building.

You can see slides 8, 9, and 10.

Each slide has different operation hours.

Loah’s mom is usually brave with rides, but even she said the Zebra Slide (Zone 8) was really scary.

Each slide has its own features and schedule.

hey don’t run all day.

At 12 PM: Rainbow Slide (Zone 7) and Kids Slide (Zone 11) open. At 1 PM: Open Slide and Zebra Slide open. At 2 PM: Space Bowl Slide and Kids Slide open. At 3 PM: Open Slide and Zebra Slide open again.

I’m going to ride the Rainbow Slide (Zone 7) this time.

Woongjin Play City

It has a good height and moderate difficulty — great for elementary school kids.

Young kids like Loah could only use Zones 2 and 3.

But since she found Zone 2 a bit scary, she mainly enjoyed Zone 3 and the lazy river.

웅진플레이도시 시설

Lastly, Zone 6 is a standard lap pool.

We didn’t use it since we had kids with us.

It’s located right next to the air pump in Zone D.

● Hot Spring Spa Zone

웅진플레이도시 푸드코트

Next to the women’s locker room, there’s a food court. If you walk through it, you’ll find the hot spring spa zone on the other side.

In the past, food at places like this used to be overpriced, but with today’s dining prices, the cost here was similar to outside restaurants — and the taste was pretty decent.

We also brought seedless fruit and drinks with us, and enjoyed them alongside the food.

Compared to other places, food rules here weren’t strictly enforced.

웅진플레이도시 음식물

The pork cutlet meal was 13,900 KRW.

Here’s a floor plan of the Hot Spring Spa Zone. The ㄱ-shaped area is the food court.

We started at Area 1.

This is what Area 1 looks like — a large spa pool in the center.

Children under 140 cm must wear a life vest here.

The depth is 1.1 meters, and lifeguards were very strict and attentive.

To the left, there’s a well-equipped play area for young children.

Area 2 is the kids’ hot spring zone, with various small pools.

Woongjin Play City

There was a ball pool room, and even a block room.

Korean Hot Springs

All of the pools were 0.6 meters deep.

Loah could walk around safely without any floatation device.

However, you should never take your eyes off your child.

Seoul Hot Springs

There were five themed toddler hot spring pools in total.

The water was clearer than we expected, and there was much less of the chemical smell you often find in other water parks.

We skipped Area 3 and passed through Area 11 (the event spa), and headed straight to Areas 4 and 5.

The current theme of Area 11 was red wine.

Traveling to Seoul with Kids

The water was 50 cm deep, so Loah could also walk around on her own here.

Even though she could walk, we still had her use a tube.

Traveling to Seoul with Kids

Because it’s a hot spring, we felt a bit more at ease compared to regular water play.

The water was clean and pleasant.

We brought about 3 swim diapers, which was more than enough.

Swim diapers are a must for young babies.

We had life vests, but it was nice to have extras!

These days, if you use Korean online shopping, items can be delivered to your hotel within a day.

Nearby Daiso stores are also a great option for quick buys.

The spa advertises that it uses natural hot spring water drawn from 1,300 meters underground.

Korean hot springs

Area 6 was closed during our visit, but Areas 7, 8, 9, and 10 (the outdoor hot springs) were open.

Korean hot springs

Here’s a view of Area 7.

We were a bit sad that the outdoor water park wasn’t available, but we were happy that the hot spring area had an outdoor healing zone.

Woongjin Play City

Area 8 was a rose bath, and Area 9 was a jasmine bath.

Woongjin Play City

Even Area 10 — the cherry blossom bath — was great.

The temperature here was a bit higher than other pools, which was nice for adults, but may feel a bit overwhelming for young kids.

We often visit hot springs in the countryside, but this was our first time trying one near Seoul — and we were really impressed.

Back inside, we went to Area 1 (the Bade Pool) and enjoyed a brief massage.

Then we returned to the indoor water park zone and played until about 4:30 p.m., before heading to the sauna and leaving at 6 p.m.

We entered at 11 a.m. and had a full, satisfying day until 6 p.m.!

One thing to note: towels are not provided here.

You’ll need to bring your own towel for after your shower.

If you forget, you can buy a new towel in the locker room for 3,500 KRW.

There are four ticket types:

Weekend entry after 2 p.m.

Weekday full-day ticket

Weekday entry after 2 p.m.

Weekend full-day ticket
