Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park
Hello! We are a Korean family traveling around Korea with our young child, Loah.
We share honest reviews based on places we personally visit, hoping to help travelers like you discover hidden gems throughout Korea.
Today, we’re introducing a kids-friendly hot spring water park in Korea, a country well known for its clean and high-quality hot spring water.
The place is called Onyang Hot Spring Land. (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park)
It is an indoor hot spring water park that is especially suitable for families with children.
Among Korean hot springs, the water quality here is considered to be particularly excellent.
This article is not sponsored.
All expenses were fully paid by us, and we are sharing our genuine and firsthand experience.
- Since it is an indoor facility, it is not affected by outdoor weather conditions.
- There are many facilities where children under the age of 10 can play safely.
- The space is divided into two floors.
- Because it uses natural hot spring water, the water quality is excellent.
- In particular, the hot spring water in the sauna area is outstanding.
- It may feel unfamiliar to foreign visitors.
- Foreign language services are not available.
●Introduction (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park)

This hot spring focuses more on a kids-friendly water park experience than on quiet relaxation or healing.
It is an especially great place for families visiting with children under the age of 10.

Because the water quality is excellent, we highly recommend it.

The water temperature is maintained at around 30–33°C (86–91°F),
and since it is an indoor facility, it is not affected by outdoor weather conditions.

In the sauna area, where you bathe without wearing clothes, the quality of the water can be felt even more clearly.
The water feels slightly slippery and has a sulfur scent, which is natural because this is a genuine sulfur hot spring.
This is a place that was used by Korean kings long ago.
● Onyang Hot Spring Land Location (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park)

You can reach this area by subway or train from Yongsan Station in Seoul.
The Onyang area in Chungcheongnam-do has been famous for its hot springs since the Joseon Dynasty.
● How to Get to the Onyang Hot Spring Land (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park)

The journey starts from Yongsan Station in Seoul.
There are three main ways to get there:
- Take the KTX high-speed train to Cheonan-Asan Station, then transfer to a regular train to Onyang Oncheon Station
(about 50 minutes total / ₩16,300) - Take a regular train (Mugunghwa-ho) directly to Onyang Oncheon Station
(about 1 hour and 30 minutes / ₩7,000) - Take the express subway
(about 2 hours / ₩3,550)
Unless it is a major holiday season, same-day ticket purchases are usually easy, so we did not include booking links.
Personally, we recommend option 2 for foreign visitors.
Although the 50-minute transfer option is the fastest, option 2 does not require transfers and is faster than taking the subway, making it the most convenient overall.

After arriving at Onyang Oncheon Station, exit through Exit 1.

There is a bus from Exit 1 to the hot spring, but walking takes about the same amount of time.
The walk takes approximately 20 minutes.

If you leave Seoul early in the morning, you can enter the facility before noon.
This is also a popular place for locals who visit mainly to enjoy the sauna.

● Onyang Hot Spring Land Review (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring Water Park)
● Ticket Office (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring)

The entrance is usually crowded with many visitors.
However, it is rare to see such fast and accurate ticket checking and efficient service in a rural area outside of Seoul.
The staff handle everything very precisely and quickly.

At least at this ticket office, even foreign visitors should not have any problems.
There are different types of visitors, such as sauna users and jjimjilbang users,
so simply saying “kids water park” is enough.
After payment, you will receive a paper wristband and a locker key.
Men can freely use towels inside the sauna,
but women receive a limited number of towels (two per person) at the counter.

Please wear the sticker-type wristband.
If it falls off, re-entry may not be allowed, so be careful.
Using the locker key you received, place your shoes in the shoe lockers located right behind the ticket office.

Using the locker key you received, place your shoes in the shoe lockers located right behind the ticket office.

Then follow the path and go upstairs.
The facility is not very large, so it is easy to find your way.

Photography is not allowed inside the sauna and hot spring baths.
At this sauna area, you can either change and shower,
or go straight up the stairs directly in front of you.

Once upstairs, the kids hot spring water park is on the left,
and the jjimjilbang is on the right.
If you add the jjimjilbang option, you can use it as well,
but we plan to use only the water park.

Going up to the left, you will see warm air blowers and large plastic bags.
This means you should squeeze out your wet swimsuits after using the water park
and put them into the plastic bags.
Unlike some other water parks, there are no swimsuit drying machines here.
By this point, you have reached the 5th floor.
When you open the door, the kids hot spring water park begins immediately.
● 5th Floor – Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring

The 5th floor is slightly more active than the 6th floor.
It has many facilities suitable for children aged around 5 to 10.

Near the entrance of the women’s sauna, there is a station to inflate tubes
and a life jacket rental counter.
Unless your child is very young, tubes are not strictly necessary here.
There are many play facilities for kids.

There is also a very shallow warm pool designed for toddlers.

Several slides are available on the 5th floor.
Compared to adult water parks, the slides are less thrilling,
but they are the perfect size for young children.

Since this is an indoor kids water park using sulfur hot spring water,
it can be enjoyed even on cold or rainy days without any issues.

This photo shows a child about 130 cm tall standing in the deepest area.
Only this section is the deepest; most areas have a depth of about 30–50 cm.
Children under 130 cm must wear a life jacket when entering deeper water.

Although the space is not very large, children can easily play here all day.

We have visited several times, so we have many photos of Loah here.

After exploring the 5th floor, let’s move up to the 6th floor.
● 6th Floor – Kids Hot Spring Water Park (Korea’s Kids-Friendly Hot Spring)

The 6th floor feels similar to the 5th floor but with some differences.

The water depth here is shallower than on the 5th floor.

It is more suitable for younger children.

The pools are shallow, and there are many ride-on features.

While the size is not huge, it is a safe indoor place where kids can play regardless of the weather.

If you are traveling to Korea with young children, this place is worth considering.

There is also a small lazy river.
Loah liked this area the most.
Having a tube is helpful here,
as children can float comfortably in the water.

As mentioned later, one downside of this facility is that it feels somewhat old.

Unlike many other water parks where sunbeds or tables require extra fees,
table usage here is free.
Inside the hot spring, the only additional charges are for food and life jacket rentals.
We already owned life jackets, so we didn’t need to rent them,
but children under 130 cm must wear a life jacket in deeper areas.

Both the 5th and 6th floors each have a hot spring bath,
which is great for adults to relax.
If you see the hot spring water in the sauna area, you may be surprised.
The water is extremely smooth and has a strong sulfur scent.
If you use both the kids water park and the sauna,
you can easily spend around 5–6 hours here, depending on the person.
Afterward, you can return to Seoul or move on to another region,
or stay one more night to explore the market near the train station.
Since this is a hot spring area,
hot spring water is also available at nearby accommodations.
