Approximate location (Traveling to Seoul)

It is located in the northwest of Seoul,
It is very close to Independence Gate Station on Subway Line 3.

아이와 서울 여행

Get off at Independence Gate Station on Line 3
Exit 3.

아이와 서울 여행

There is an elevator right in front of the turnstiles.
Because we have a stroller,
we used that instead of taking exit 3.

This is what it looks like when you take the elevator to the top floor.
Follow me from here and we’ll be there in no time~!
((By the way, just to the right is Seodaemun Prison History Hall, which we will visit after the Police Museum))

After about three minutes of walking
you will see the Police Museum under the overpass on your left.

경찰박물관

I think it actually took about 5 minutes.

Police Museum (Traveling to Seoul)

Snap a photo in front of the camera

You walk in and it’s the second floor,
viewing will take place on the fourth and third floors.
Take the elevator directly to the fourth floor.

They also offer stroller and wheelchair rentals.
Simple luggage storage is also available.

police musium

The exhibit starts with old motorcycles and police cars.

You can see something about police uniforms,
and try them on virtually.

There’s also one about a cop who was shot while protecting the presidential palace.

There’s even a quick trivia game in the middle to keep you from getting bored.
Oh… but I didn’t see if it was available in English!

There are shooting range experiences that are similar to real-world shooting.
Of course, there are no real bullets, just the sound of air.

Traveling to Seoul

The shooting range and police motorcycle experience are both located on the third floor.

police musium

There’s even a little kid’s outfit like this.
So cute~

The third floor contains the last of the well-maintained nursing rooms and restrooms.

A visit to the Police Museum is a unique experience when traveling to Korea.
Probably not many tourists come to this place. hahahaha

Now go to the next location, Seodaemun Prison History Hall.
Go back to the subway elevator location from earlier.

Seodaemun Prison History Hall

Maybe it’s because it’s a place that holds painful memories of Korea, but the atmosphere is very chilly.

The atmosphere is very cold and down.
Let’s take a moment to look at a picture of Loah and get going!!!

Seodaemun Prison History Hall

Many independence fighters have been falsely imprisoned here.
punished here.

Once again, there should be no war,
and I am grateful to those who fought for our country.

trip to korea

There’s a big Korea flag hanging on one side of the building.
I took a picture while manse~.

This is where executions used to take place.
I’m not allowed to take pictures inside.

A tree that actually existed in the past.
This is the tree that condemned prisoners held onto and cried for the last time before they died.
Also known as the Wailing Tree.

A place where only women were imprisoned.

We’ve recreated a variety of torture methods.

It’s a torture technique with thorns everywhere.

There are torture methods that don’t allow you to do anything.

We took me about two hours of slow exploration.
Once again, I feel grateful to the independence fighters who fought for the country.

Independence Gate

Exit the Seodaemun Prison Museum and look outside at the Independence Gate(dongnimmun).
The subway station is called Independence Gate(dongnimmun) because there is a large gate that commemorates Korea’s independence from Japan.
By the way, the Independence Gate was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in France.
