When planning a trip to Europe, there are many things to consider, such as flights, travel routes, and daily itineraries.
Among them, choosing the right hotel can have a surprisingly large impact on your overall travel experience.
In reality, you only spend a few hours on the plane, and travel plans can always be adjusted along the way.
However, choosing the wrong hotel can easily turn into one of the most stressful parts of the trip.
Sardinia is a large island in the Mediterranean, and where you stay can greatly influence how you experience it.
Some areas are known for luxurious seaside resorts, while others offer charming coastal towns with a more relaxed atmosphere.
In this article, I’ll introduce three carefully selected Where to Stay in Sardinia.
Two of them — Colonna Resort and Bagaglino I Giardini Di Porto Cervo — are located in the famous Costa Smeralda area in the northeast, known for its beautiful beaches and luxury resorts.
The third hotel, Hotel Corte Rosada, is a peaceful seaside property near Alghero on the northwest coast, offering a different and more relaxed Sardinian experience.
When planning a trip, you often spend a lot of time researching destinations, hotels, and travel routes.
The more time you invest in comparing options, the more valuable that information becomes.
However, as time passes, it’s easy to forget many of the details you once found useful.
So I decided to organize and record the information I gathered here.

Here are the criteria I used to decide where to stay in Sardinia.
- The surrounding area must be safe and convenient.
- There should be at least some natural light or a view from the window.
- Exclude places where bugs are mentioned in reviews.
- Check noise levels and overall room conditions.
- The hotel must offer good value for the price.
- It is also helpful to focus on accommodations that friends or acquaintances have stayed at.
I set the standards like this.
Then I started researching some of the most popular options for where to stay in Sardinia.
Even now, the memories of that trip still come back to me.

● Final Thoughts on Where to Stay in Sardinia
Based on the information I researched before visiting Sardinia and what I experienced during my trip, I organized everything here.
When comparing prices, I noticed that rates on Expedia and Hotels.com were sometimes slightly different.
In many cases, Expedia offered slightly lower prices, but occasionally Hotels.com had better deals.
Hotels No. 1 and No. 2 are located in the Costa Smeralda area in northeastern Sardinia, one of the island’s most famous resort regions.
Because this area is known for its beautiful beaches and luxury seaside atmosphere, it is a great place to stay if you want to experience the classic Sardinian coastal lifestyle.
Hotel No. 3, located near Alghero on the northwest coast, has a slightly different atmosphere and offers a more relaxed seaside setting.
Personally, this was the hotel I liked the most.
The location, views, and overall atmosphere were all very appealing.
Although we have visited famous Italian cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice, and Naples, this was our first time discovering Sardinia.

Costa Smeralda and Alghero are two of the most popular areas for visitors.
The color of the sea and the clear blue sky here are truly stunning.
